nothing was going right. i sat alone in the dark one night , in my empty house.no furniture. only moonlight. shadows. guitar. baby in belly. i wished more than anything i was home in Alaska in the frozen hush of winter. i just wanted silence, peace, and rest .the kind only black sky ,snow and ice can sustain. the kind that secretly Aurora up in the sky.even the crickets seemed disastrously loud that night.
I live somewhere between jagged peaks and silver moonbeams
My skin is the softness of a breeze thru velvet darkness
(CHORUS) and the air is crisp and cool, it smells like winter
The stars are languid pools that pulse and shimmer
My shadow stands beside me bearing witness to my
Silent revelries….. my silent revelries
The sound of absolute stillness captivated my attention
Tiny crystals forming intricate on window panes
Just to shatter with the morning
(CHORUS) and the air is crisp and cool, it smells like winter
The stars are languid pools that pulse and shimmer
My shadow stands beside me bearing witness to my
Silent revelries….. my silent revelries
And when I awoke again, the day was hot against my face
Birds were singing, sun was shining thru my window pane
But I remain in the solitude of winter
